Manage Van Inventory

Know What's in Your Van

Nothing kills a service call faster than showing up without the right key blank or cylinder. KeyBolt's inventory system tracks every item across all your locations — Van 1, Van 2, Shop — so you always know what you have and where it is.

Adding Inventory Items

  1. Go to the Inventory tab.
  2. Tap + New Item.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name — a clear, searchable name (e.g., "KW1 Key Blank," "Schlage B60N Deadbolt," "Lishi HU66 Pick").
    • Category — select from Key Blank, Transponder Chip, Lock Hardware, Cylinder, Tool, or Other.
    • Location — where this item is stored. Type any location name: "Van 1," "Van 2," "Shop," "Storage Unit." Locations are free-text so you can name them whatever makes sense for your operation.
    • Quantity — how many you have on hand at this location.
    • Low stock threshold — the minimum quantity before KeyBolt alerts you. For example, set this to 5 for key blanks you use daily.
  4. Tap Save.

Adjusting Quantities

After each job, update your stock. Open any inventory item and tap + or - to adjust the quantity. You can also type a new number directly. Quantity changes are tracked in the activity audit log.

Filtering and Searching

The inventory list supports filtering by category and location. Use the category filter to see all your key blanks at a glance. Use the location filter to see everything in Van 1 before restocking. The search bar at the top searches across item names.

Tip: Restock your van every Friday. Filter by "Van 1," sort by quantity, and move items from Shop stock to the van. This weekly habit means you start every Monday fully loaded and ready for whatever calls come in.
